Digging in OS 10.2 that was recently launched as the Dev build and an alpha build leaked out earlier this week, the guys over at BerryReview spotted this interesting tibit. BlackBerry now finally added a Screen Capture API both in native and Cascades paving the way for applications to save a screenshot into the camera roll – identical to what happens where the volume button screenshot keys are pressed. In addition, BlackBerry has specifically stated support for the Android Open Accessory Protocol which allows devices to easily be detected and setup communication with your BlackBerry 10 device.
In addition, the “Peripheral Discovery Library” allows the application to get notified and grab information from the devices connected over USB, Bluetooth, DisplayPort and even HDMI.
Seems like they are really tapping into Android source code and technology to make the BlackBerry 10 OS more wholesome. Well, the accessory protocol support has been on my top wish list ever since playing with in on the Samsung S3… How about you?
