As apart of the planned $1 Billion savings project, Research In Motion has begun to layoff more employees in the projected 5,000 job cut. The most recent cuts were from their IT Service Desk, which will be outsourced to NCR. How far this will affect us remains to be seen though.
“We understand the difficulties that these changes have on individuals, their families and the community and we are grateful for the continued support and understanding of our community partners. These are difficult but necessary changes that will help put us on the right footing to launch BlackBerry 10 at the end of the month and deliver real value for our stakeholders now and in the future,” said RIM’s Global Corporate Communications Manager Nick Manning.
