The talks at BlackBerry World 2012 has mainly been about BlackBerry 10 and the all the awesome new features and functions that it will bring. Well, the lovely BlackBerry PlayBook has not been left out in the talks! Here’s what we learnt in one of the sessions.The BlackBerry PlayBook will be getting PlayBook OS 2.1 very soon. There will be a developer build releasing at the end of this month and will be officially launching at the beginning of the summer.
Some of the new features in BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 include:
1. Portrait Email, Calendar, and Contacts
2. App World Carrier Shelf
3. Bridge Texting and WiFi Transport Support
4. Android Multi-Tasking
5. Camera API and In-app Payments for developers
6. Over-the-air activation with Mobile fusion
7. Personal Encryption
8. A lot of more cool features
This seems like it is going to be a big update and there is suppose to be more features added. On a side note the current BlackBerry PlayBook will also be updatable to BlackBerry 10 when it launches for the BlackBerry PlayBook (3G/4G).
