This really isn’t much of an application review specifically for the Blackberry, but its a great BroTip for manga lovers on the PlayBook.

If you’ve used Apple iOS before, you might have come across a pretty helpful app called MangaRock. Its an awesome app, really, you get manga downloaded right into your device where you can view them offline at your own leisure.

Now, if you see what the PlayBook currently has to offer (I haven’t had time to search much but this is the best I’ve seen so far), you’ll find this app called Comics, which allows you to read CBZ, CBR and ZIP files of your favourite comics and manga. Pretty good, but lacking in one key component: how do we get the manga source?

Here’s where the BroTip comes in.

This nifty little application is available as a free download or an unlockable full edition at $7.95USD/year or $24.95USD lifetime.

What it does is that it grabs manga from popular manga sites such as MangaFox and downloads them to your PC where you can view at your offline pleasure. It also has features to do the auto zipping of individual chapters for you. Best thing of all? You really don’t need the paid version cuz the free version does all the important features (download and zip) for you (though I do encourage some support for the developer).

Once you have those little Zip files, its all a matter of getting a comic reader like Comics! ($2.99USD http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/22806/?lang=en) and transferring them over to your PlayBook. SCORE! Manga on the PlayBook!
