Security Experts: Apple ’10 years’ behind Microsoft on security

So now it seems like Security experts are leveraging on the well known fact that Apple is really crap in Security field. The latest comes from Kaspersky’s founder and CEO Eugene Kaspersky who said that Apple is at least 10 years behind Microsoft on security. This was addressing the new wave of attacks on Mac systems recently.

However he added an increase in Mac malware was, “just a question of time and market share. Cyber criminals have now recognised that Mac is an interesting area. Now we have more, it’s not just Flashback or Flashfake. Welcome to Microsoft’s world, Mac. It’s full of malware.”

“Apple is now entering the same world as Microsoft has been in for more than 10 years: updates, security patches and so on,” he added. “We now expect to see more and more because cyber criminals learn from success and this was the first successful one.”

“They will understand very soon that they have the same problems Microsoft had ten or 12 years ago. They will have to make changes in terms of the cycle of updates and so on and will be forced to invest more into their security audits for the software,” Kaspersky told CBR.

Perhaps the most infamous statement to this would be the ease of which any mobile device or ipod device from Apple being able to be jailbroken. The fact that how closely Apple is trying to merge its desktop systems with its mobile devices and the above two facts combined, it makes the mac users look like a tasty burger waiting to be tasted upon by the Blackhats.

Windows is not that secure either, however, everything has its weaknesses and risks.

Well, the cat and mouse game continues!
