So, we have heard analyst’s mixed reports, we have heard the distributor’s words on how the BlackBerry z10 is doing so far. There has been a lot of speculation over the past weeks and nobody is coming up with real numbers. So how is the Z10 really doing?
Skylab Mobilesystems Ltd. is a long time BlackBerry developer; they have been building BlackBerry apps since 2005 and now, they have also brought their application support over to the BlackBerry 10 platform. With a total of 985 applications in appworld for sale, the number itself is mind boggling.
So, they have let us know that the have released their sales statistics and it does look very promising, at least for the eco-system.
In January, their sale composition was:
- 34% PlayBook
- 66% BlackBerry OS
And then in February:
- 37% Z10 (Canada, UK, India, Italy, Poland, China, …)
- 20% PlayBook
- 10% Z10 (South Africa, UAE, Russia, Qatar, …)
- 33% BlackBerry OS
So the conclusion?
Again, nothing concrete on the sales figures, but with BlackBerry z10 app sales rocketing, I don’t see the chance of this being a Microsoft saga though.
