BlackBerry Partners Up with Emtek to Help Expand BBM
Today, BlackBerry has announced its formal partnership with PT Elang Mahkota Teknologi Tbk. (Emtek), which is an Indonesian based company. Emtek, is Indonesia’s second largest media group, and with this, BlackBerry aims to provide users with more content and services. Whilst the specific financial information is not available, part of the agreement, Emtek’s digital content division KMK Online will also open a Toronto office so it can work more closely with the BlackBerry. Last year, BlackBerry acquired Good Technology which included their Good Dynamics Secure Mobility Platform that is the foundation for the Good Collaboration Suite. BlackBerry Partners Up With M1 To Offer BES 12 Cloud to Business Customers
Last week, BlackBerry announced that M1 has officially partnered with them for BlackBerry’s Enhanced SIM-Based Licensing (ESBL), and allow businesses to get easier access onto BES12. BlackBerry’s Enterprise Service (BES) is BlackBerry’s enterprise mobility management (EMM) solution for companies and organizations to use to manage their mobile deployment of their staff. BlackBerry 10 Not Going To EOL Anytime Soon
Aside from the Marshmallow update for the BlackBerry Priv, during the BlackBerry Q4 Fiscal 2016 Earnings Call, BlackBerry CEO John Chen too talked about the BlackBerry 10 OS. Whilst the latest revision, 10.3.3, has been popping up in BlackBerry servers, the official release has been pushed back to June as BlackBerry has not yet received the required certification from NIAP. As per the earnings call earlier, BlackBerry has now confirmed that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolling out to the BlackBerry Priv by late April, early May. The Android Marshmallow brings about a whole series of updates and improvements, and it is understandable that with many other devices running it already, the wait seems long. BlackBerry Priv March Update Rolling Out
The March security patch for the BlackBerry Priv is now available to download OTA from BlackBerry. The update, which weighs in around 17MB, brings some further security enhancements to the phone. BlackBerry & Google has yet to release what was fixed and patched in this, however, it should be out soon.
