This year, BlackBerry Jam 2013 will be part of BlackBerry Live Conference as well, and BlackBerry will be doing some really interesting things this year to provide a “Mobile” experience for participants. While we have seen some of this back in DevCon Asia (Singapore), its nice to see BlackBerry upping the ant to showcase technology of what we can do. Will you be going to BlackBerry Jam 2013?
As usual, shortly before the event, the Mobile Conference Guide app will be made available in BlackBerry World for download. This app would allow participants to:
- Find sessions, speaker, sponsor, and event details
- Receive event update messages
- View the conference agenda and floor plan
- Build and edit your conference schedule
- Complete conference and session surveys
However this year, BlackBerry is also making full use of NFC technologies to make this event a truly mobile one. You can now make use of the app and NFC to:
- Scan into sessions using Near Field Communication (NFC)
- Share your information with conference sponsors using NFC
- Easily scan links to resources and websites
The event will be held from May 14-16th, 2013, at the Orlando World Centre Marriott, FLorida. But it is still not to late to sign up for the event. If you have attended a BlackBerry event in the past, you might also be eligible for a $150 discount as part of the Alumni Discount. Not to mention this year, attendees will receive a BlackBerry Z10 courtesy of Brightstar (register here).
