BlackBerry 10 Not Going To EOL Anytime Soon

Aside from the Marshmallow update for the BlackBerry Priv, during the BlackBerry Q4 Fiscal 2016 Earnings Call, BlackBerry CEO John Chen too talked about the BlackBerry 10 OS. Whilst the latest revision, 10.3.3, has been popping up in BlackBerry servers, the official release has been pushed back to June as BlackBerry has not yet received the required certification from NIAP. Apart from that, he too mentioned a little about the OS 10.3.4.

What is NIAP?
The National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) is managed by the NSA, and is focused on establishing a national program for the evaluation of information technology products for conformance to international standards.

So unfortunately, whilst BlackBerry wants to release it to us all, they can’t as they have not received the necessary certifications.

Nonetheless, in addition to 10.3.3, John Chen also mentioned that BlackBerry OS 10.3.4 has been scheduled for late fiscal year 2017, early fiscal year 2018 (a.k.a late 2016, early 2017). However, changes that it will bring has not been mentioned just yet.
