Almost a year ago, BlackBerry sued Ryan Seacrest’s backed firm for the production and sales of the Typo keyboard. As a blatant copy of BlackBerry’s iconic Keyboard layout design, Typo was issued a court junction to halt the sales of Typo. However, Typo sales continued, with the board totally ignoring the sales ban.
Well, this morning, Typo has been ordered to pay BlackBerry damages to the tune of $860,000.
Whilst clearly paid out as a penalty for contempt, a Typo representative said that the ruling is “part of the ongoing patent litigation related to the initial Typo product”
