Once in a while, I like to fire up Blackberry World and scroll through the infinite list of map apps, app “guides” and book apps to see if there’s any new apps that are worth looking at.

Today I present to you Drivr, the world’s only global taxi booking app.

Drivr is a native BB10 app that can be used for booking taxis and is available for download free on Blackberry World.

Seems to be quite a coverage around the a number of cities. In Singapore, it seems only Comfort Delgro supports it in beta.

Once you’re in, it searches for your location and allows you to book a taxi, but you’ll have to confirm your mobile number first. It also has active frame support that provides some info on any bookings you’ve made.

Booking options are pretty clean and it allows you to make advanced bookings. Looking up the Drivr website, it apparently recruits private drivers for hire, though I don’t think we’ve got that here on the little red dot.
