Last month, Despicable Me: Minion Rush finally made its way to the BlackBerry 10. Well, the game is connected to BlackBerry Games as well for you to share your high score and some of you may just be playing amongst your friends vying for a high score. Here we have some tips and tricks for you, to make your record stand out from the crowd.

First and foremost, gift codes! These are 5 free gift codes which they have so secretly put in for us.

Costumes is another fun part of the game, apart from adding some nice outfits and look to your minion, it also adds some additional perks:

Like any other games, power ups is essential to making a game play easier. Here, is no different. Check out the power ups available:

Hidden junctions is like an Easter egg hunt. What we know, at the moment, is the existence of the disco room in the game.

Somewhere into the game, in Gru’s laboratory, you might see some bananas off the track to the right (and the disk like thing as seen in the screenshot above). If you catch it in time, swipe right and you’ll jump onto the pipe and head into Gru’s Disco Room. Inside, you’ll find bananas all over the place (along with some funky tunes) that you can grab.

For newbies, here’s some general tips:

• If you see a large patch of green runway coming up, get ready to take control of your minion using your device’s tilt functionality. It’s very easy to slip up here, so make very gentle movements – concentrate on survival rather than grabbing every last banana.
• It’s always worth bumping into fellow minions, rather than grabbing the handful of bananas nearby, as this will increase your scoring multiplier. All you have to do to take them out is be in the nearest lane to them – your minion will automatically take care of the rest.
• When fighting against Vector, you have to avoid the large units that he drops onto the lanes, but fire the shielded units back at him. All you have to do to take him down is tap on these explosive objects to send them hurtling towards his ship.
• Don’t forget to upgrade your minion. Most upgrades can be bought using the bananas you’ve collected, and we recommend prioritizing the Minion Shield first, so you can survive a collision on the course. This is very handy when the pace quickens after the first few minutes.
• Pay attention to the goals that you’re given throughout the game. They’re not hard to complete, and reward you with a generous chunk of tokens to help you continue on in the game after taking a tumble. Reaching these goals will also open up new environments for you to explore.
• You can actually switch lanes while you’re in mid-air. This is often essential for surviving an upcoming obstacle, so don’t forget to look at what’s coming up next, and prepare for the challenge accordingly.
• Run out of tokens, and getting annoyed of the Revive timer message? Tap rapidly on the screen, anywhere outside of the Revive box, and you’ll be able to start up a new game in no time at all. Note that if you do want to Revive, it’ll cost more with each successive use in any single run.
• Always prioritize grabbing the Fluffy Unicorn icon when it appears on the screen. You’ll need to unlock it from the store first, but once active this mini-game gives you the chance to earn some serious bananas. Use your tilt controls to steer the unicorn through the massive columns of currency.
• To get a higher score, knock off more minions or get more bananas, however, the simple rule is to stop focusing too hard on collecting bananas or minions and simply try to run as far as possible. If anything, concentrate more on the bananas, because the bananas typically go around obstacles. So follow the trail of bananas to run a long distance.
• Use the combination of power ups, score perks and multipliers (via completing as many despicable actions as possible) in order to rack up insane scores. Run through the secret zones to make it easier, as well. To find the secret zones, when you are approaching an area where you make a turn off to the side, look for a clear tube in one or two of the lanes that you can run through. They’re hard to see so you have to look closely. Run through the clear tube and you’ll be taken off to the secret area, where you’ll collect extra bananas as well.
• Push up the score even more by dragging out the boss battles and the fluffy unicorn stages as well. In the unicorn stage, you’ll fall when you’re not touching bananas, so collect the bananas off and on to make it last longer. If Vector and Meena aren’t throwing too many robots at you, avoid them but don’t tap the target bots, so that you can continue racking up your score while you run, without worrying about any jumps or anything like that.
