As we all very well know, that BlackBerry is being considered by FairFax. Whilst it is not a confirmed deal, since it is only the preliminary offer, BlackBerry then did state that they are going to be more focused for BlackBerry Enterprise and Pro-sumers. And even so, this has even made them cancel their Q4 earnings call last week.

So what now? What is next?

By their definition, pro-sumers are those who value technology purposefully built for enhancing productivity. Pro-sumer are those whom are looking for professional capabilities in the professional world. They are the most active users of their devices, they look for the best devices. They are the ones whom will help drive the devices, they are the biggest spenders. So for developers, why develop for BlackBerry? That is simply because of the fact that this is the market they want to achieve. BlackBerry wants to focus on building the best or most solid devices that is available.

For enterprise wise, there is not much changes, apart from the renewed focus for that segment. Without doubt, enterprise users still do make up a large proportion of BlackBerry’s revenue in spite of the threat of BYOD and rising competitive platforms.

Bottom line, whether if this is good or bad, I will leave it up to you to decide, but, PS: they consider all BlackBerry 10 users as pro-sumers (aka early adopters).
