When I first saw the BlackBerry Z10 Multimedia dock, I knew this was something to compliment my Z10. From OS 10.0 to now OS 10.1, there has not been any fixes to the OS with respect to the landscape viewing, unlike the PlayBook and this has been the widely reported reason for this being withheld for public sales. This has not stopped 3rd party accessories maker such as Kidigi (which has also made similar stuff for Samsung line of devices) from making similar products, but nonetheless, here we have one official dock on hand!

First thing you will see is that the part where your device goes into is made glossy, hence, all that plastic wrapper on it to protect it. This meant that it could be a dust and fingerprint magnet in no time.

The back shows a really nice bold BlackBerry logo, in a matte back ground.

On the back has the standard full-sized HDMI port (as opposed to the micro on the device) together with a microusb port. So, you can plug this into your TV to play your favourite shows and yet, charge your device at the same time.

Videos are most definitely able to display in landscape, so is Skype. Unfortunately, some applications BBM, Nobex Radio are not able to. Even the homescreen is unfortunately unable to.

If user experience was what BlackBerry had in mind, this could explain it all.

But, if there is to be such a dock, get it out in the market! I know many of you are eagerly waiting for this accessory, and many more waiting for a proper landscape mode on the OS 10. When will we see this fixed and have it out officially in the market? Its for anyone’s guess. But if your the kind who likes to play movies and shows from your device to your TV, this could be your dream accessory. Now I only wished my PlayBook’s dock came with a HDMI port.
