The BlackBerry Transform Hard Shell provides a flip to stand feature, which allows you to easily enjoy media on your BlackBerry Z10. The BlackBerry Transform Case itself is a simple, and thin one-piece case. It is made of 2 parts linked together, to form one piece which is the essence that allows you to transform it into a stand from a case easily.
The insides of the case are lined with a rubber-like material so the case itself does not scratch the phone when you are putting the case on, or when taking it off. The case also fits snugly on the device.
Add in a device, you can see that it cover the sides properly when it is in case format, with proper cut outs for the various ports, buttons and speakers. Best of all, it also comes with clear screen protector as well. The four front corners of the case also protrudes out slightly, so that the screen is not directly in contact with surfaces even when placed screen down.
In order to transform it into a stand, the bottom part or left part of the casing (the part encasing the usb and hdmi ports) will have to be removed from the phone. Which is a relatively easy task since the case is bendable in the middle. This forms a 3-point contact with the surface where you are putting the device on. Making it great for either watching a video, playing a game, or even when using the camera. Coupled that with an app like Snap (allows you to take photos using sounds, or self-timer), it makes the case an invaluable accessory for your Z10.
While this case may not exactly be the best when it comes to protection, it offers the convenience of having a screen that is always available unlike flip cases. But it should be able to offer a decent amount of protection from minor bumps and knocks. Plus with a built-in stand, it certainly is extremely useful.
Of course, do note that the bottom half of the device is entirely exposed when used as a stand, thus the device will be in contact with the ground or surface. So do note when placing your device on a surface as the ports are exposed, so if the surface is wet, it might damage the device.
Overall, it is a great looking case that offers much more than just the protection of the device. However, if you are looking for more screen protection, you may want to take a look at the BlackBerry Flip Shell, which is able to double up as a stand as well. It also comes with a magnetic cover that will sleep the display when close it, and activates it when you flip it open.
