Over the last week or so, we started seeing OS version 7.1.0.746 coming out for various devices. At this point, it is now available for the following devices; Porsche Design P’9981, Bold 9900, Bold 9790, Curve 9360, and Curve 9320.

OS updates are not really a rare thing, but the rare thing is when RIM implement a new feature in their OS. They never include their change log, so imagine our surprise when we first fired up the 7.1.0.746.

We are now able to customise the LED notification light into various colours. Previously we were only able to do so with a 3rd party applications, but now, this is actually built into the OS. How awesome is that?

It is definitely great to see RIM still adding in new features into BBOS 7. Since this option is now available on BBOS 7, would we see this make its way onto BB10? I sure would love the ability to customise the LED notification LED out of the box.
