Field Camp – The food!

Field camp lasts from 4 days to 6 days depending on your batch as well as whether or not you are taking the SITest. Most of you will be completely shagged by the last day or even after the 3rd day, depending also on how your coy decides to run your Field Camp. But one thing that is consistent for everyone is, THE FOOD GIVEN!

So right here, we will highlight the different packets available and what my batch thought was nice. Perhaps, you could also better prepare yourself to grab the nicer ones for a better camping experience.

Field Rations

This is your main course for your meals everyday, packed in a little green aluminum packaging. Most of the food in this is rather nice monotonous (nice for awhile actually). The names of the food here are really really fanciful though you really should not be fooled by it. The worse we found was those with “dumpling” in the names as it tastes kinda uncooked. Each pack contains 2 meals and a dessert. (Do note that as me and most of my mates are non-spicy eaters, we can only advice on the non-spicy menu. Also do try to avoid spicy food during field camp as its not really good for your performance in field camp or physical activities for the matter)

Non-Spicy Menu One

  • Braised Chicken Red Rice
  • Green Capsicum Sauce Pasta (with Chicken Sausage)
  • Honey Red Bean Dessert

Non-Spicy Menu Two (Our Favourite Pick for main course!)

  • Mushroom and Chicken Noodle
  • Oregano Chicken Frank Pasta
  • Green Bean Milk with Tapioca Dessert

Non-Spicy Menu Three

  • Szechuan Style Chicken Noodle
  • Red Bean Dumpling with Chicken
  • Creamy Terigu with Yam Dessert

Non-Spicy Menu Four

  • Semur Braised Chicken Pasta
  • Thai Style Stir Fried Noodle (With Chicken)
  • Green Bean Barley Dessert

Non-Spicy Menu Five

  • Tomato Masak Pasta (with Chicken)
  • Peranakan Style Dumpling (with Chicken)
  • Eight Treasures Dessert

Non-Spicy Menu Six (Our Favourite for the Dessert!)

  • Oregano Tomato Bean Stew (with Chicken Sausage) {Its really Bean Stew. All the Big red beans fills the pack up dominantly)
  • Chicken Goulash Noodle
  • Soya Peanut Dessert (tastes more like a nice Soya Milk drink. The Peanut are in big chunks, can easily be filtered out)

Spicy Menu Seven

  • Laksa Pasta (Fishcake)
  • Spicy Minced Chicken Noodle
  • Soya Milk with Red Bean Dessert

Spicy Menu Eight

  • Makhani Bean Stew (With Chicken)
  • Balinese Mee Goreng (With Chicken)
  • Cocoa Red Bean with Corn Dessert

Spicy Menu Nine

  • Chicken Masala Rice
  • Vietnamese Chicken Curry Pasta
  • Barley Nata De Coco Dessert

Spicy Menu Ten

  • Spicy Lentil Rice with Chicken
  • Chicken Ham and Potato in Smoke sauce
  • Black Bean with Barley Dessert

There is also the vegetarian pack which, unfortunately, I have misplaced the menu.
